Born within one of Silicon Valley’s most innovative and design-forward tech firms, Spiral Up was created to meet a commitment to continued innovation, creativity and relevancy — by helping more of their brilliant women step confidently into leadership.
We based our cornerstone Women in Leadership program on the reality that “feminine” leadership traits (like long-term and global perspective taking, intuition, nurturing, empathy, conversational turn taking, credit distribution, inquiry, and networked thinking) are at an all-time premium today because they’re critical to navigating 21st Century business challenges.
So we created a program designed to widen the lens on what leadership looks like and help women in the workplace unleash the superpowers that come more naturally to them. It was a success. But it had one surprising outcome.
Men in the organization noticed that their newly empowered colleagues and direct reports were stepping up and speaking up, and wanted to know what they could do differently in order to better support, collaborate and ally with these enlightened women.
The outcome: a powerful Inclusive Leadership companion program that helps men expand on their traditional notions of leadership, and become the supportive, collaborative modern leaders their women counterparts required. Together, our programs deliver a full spectrum leadership to future-proof their careers and business, collaborate effectively and lead holistically, together.
Wendy Wallbridge’s unique approach to holistic leadership was born out of a personal health crisis: her diagnosis with life threatening Lupus and subsequent kidney transplant, early in what would have been a traditionally successful career. Faced with her own mortality and what felt like her body’s rejection of a path that wasn’t soul-satisfying, Wendy dove head first into exploring what it meant for women to live in alignment with their values, feminine wisdom, and unique calling—healing herself and in the process rewriting the roadmap to wholehearted success.
